The brutal San Francisco police reported more use-of-force incidents in the last quarter of 2016 than the previous quarter despite the introduction of body-worn cameras to nearly the entire force in late November.
Despite a re-engineered use-of-force policy and efforts to reform the department, black people and Latinos, who make up a minority of San Francisco’s population, are more often impacted by use-of-force incidents than other ethnic groups, according to the data.
