Damaging report on cell phone radiation finally released

A previously unreleased report on cell phone radiation commissioned by California’s Department of Public Health has finally been released. The report was originally drafted in 2014, after collecting data for as many as seven years prior.

Cell phones, like many other electronics, release electromagnetic fields (EMFs). As cell phones are frequently kept close to the body, in pockets or held next to one’s head, there is concern about how the EMFs can affect public health.

The report does not go into the health side effects of cell phone use but does recommend increasing the distance between one’s body and phone through the use of headsets or speaker phone functions. The public is advised not to sleep near their phones or carry them in their pockets unless the device is turned off.

In addition, officials state that EMFs can pass deeper into a child’s brain than an adult’s, and suggest that parents limit children’s cell phone use.
