Police execute mentally-ill citizen

Two police officers fatally shot a man Monday night in Napa, after the officers responded to a call regarding a man armed with a knife who was allegedly acting “crazy,” police said.

Callers described the man as acting “high” or “crazy,” police said.

When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect crossed Kansas Avenue, heading north.

After making contact with the suspect, the incident “somehow” escalated and the two officers fired their service weapons at the man, killing him, according to police.

The Napa County Sheriff Office is investigating the incident.
