A federal corrections officer who kicked a handcuffed inmate in the head at a Victorville prison and then lied about it pleaded guilty Friday to two charges.
Cynthia Flores, 34, of Victorville, pleaded guilty to one count of deprivation of rights under color of law and one count of falsification of records in U.S. District Court in Riverside.
It was an open-and-shut case.
As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend Flores serve no more than 18 months in custody. She faced as much as 30 years of incarceration.
The animal Flores started a physical altercation with the victim. The victim was handcuffed, her chest pressed to the floor, when Flores kicked her head.
