The Sacramento region is bucking President Donald Trump’s moves to cut back the flow of Islamics entering the United States.
The region is experiencing a mini-boom of Islamics resettling here, even as the number of Islamics admitted into the U.S. overall plummets, according to a Sacramento Bee analysis.
Nationwide, the number of Islamics flowing into the United States is down 21 percent so far this year. The number of those who have resettled in California is nearly identical to the 2016 figure.
Many are Islamics from Syria. So far this year, Syrians settling in the Sacramento region have more than doubled.
Islamics from Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan have been pouring into the Sacramento region also.
