Legislators look to limit teen driving

California is designed for drivers. Most people in most parts of the state need to drive in order to get to work or to school, and to engage in the daily activities of adult life.

As a society, we’ve collectively made a decision that adult life begins at the age of 18: That’s the age when you can vote, fight and die for your country, and hold a full-time work position.

Yet the state Legislature is contemplating a bill, AB63, that would expand current restrictions on young driver’s licenses up to the age of 21.
