Criminals win again in Sacramento as Legislators kill #CPUC transparency bill

Criminals win again.

For the third straight year, legislation to allow public records requests rejected or delayed by the California Public Utilities Commission to be heard in Superior Court has been defeated.

Sen. Jerry Hill, D-San Mateo, amended his latest bill to reform the utilities commission late last week, saying it would not otherwise have passed.

“The issue continues to be important to me and one I’ll try to advance, but there were certain roadblocks we couldn’t overcome this year,” Hill said in a statement on Monday.
