#Republican elites save #Obamacare…again

The latest bill in a seven-year Republican crusade to repeal the Affordable Care Act ended in the Senate on Monday without a vote, when it became clear there was not enough support within the party for passage.

The legislation died when Sen. Susan Collins, a moderate Maine Republican who helped kill an earlier repeal bill in July, said she would vote against this one, too, because it would raise costs and leave millions of people without insurance.

With two other GOP senators having already announced their opposition, it was enough to doom the long shot legislation by Senate Republicans who could afford to lose only two members of its caucus in a sharply divided chamber.
