Vice President Pence walks out on 49ers-Colts game after players disrespect flag, veterans

The familiar sight of 49ers kneeling during the national anthem prompted Vice President Mike Pence to quickly leave Sunday’s game against the host Indianapolis Colts.

Twenty-three players knelt on the 49ers sideline while all the Colts players stood and locked arms during the anthem.

A couple minutes after the 49ers kicked off to the Colts, Pence tweeted out his rationale for leaving the game: “I left today’s Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem.”
