#LGBTQ textbooks now mandatory in #California schools

Screenshot 2017-11-20 at 07.32.35.pngThe California State Board of Education has officially approved 10 textbooks for kindergarten through eighth-grade students that include coverage of the historical contributions of LGBT people, and rejected two that failed to include such coverage.

The rejected textbooks failed to abide by California’s 2011 FAIR Education Act. The law, written by former state Sen. Mark Leno, requires that schools teach about historical figures who were LGBT or who had disabilities.

Equality California’s executive director, Rick Zbur, called the board’s decision a “long-fought victory.”

Two textbooks were rejected because they failed to address the sexual orientations of historical figures who were LGBT, or widely speculated by historians to have been LGBT.

  1. Folks, your children are being sexualized by the state. They are teaching this BS in schools instead of American history and the Founding fathers. This further isolates Kalys citzens from America. Wanna know why the Kaly public schools are nightmares and LAUSD only graduatede 45% if it’s seniors last and they [passed with a ” D” average.. Look no furhter than these creeps as to why Kaly schools are among the worst in the nation… Put your children in a very private school .. Perferibly a Catholic School were they can get an education instead of indoctrination.
