Big news from the San Francisco Examiner…the new director for San Francisco’s Department of Police Accountability, Paul Henderson, was unanimously confirmed by the Board of Supervisors.
And to that big news, we give a big yawn. The Supe’s latest move is nothing more than whitewash to divert attention from the onslaught against the poor, the homeless, the mentally ill, and people of color by the San Francisco Police Department.
The fact is Henderson, who was nominated by the Police Commission for the job, has been serving in the post since June 2017 as interim director. Have you noticed a kindler, gentler SFPD during that time? Neither have we.
We like Mr. Henderson. He is a decent, well-meaning guy. It’s not his fault Supervisors are tools of the brutal SFPD and racist goons like Martin Halloran who call the shots in the city.
