The pathetic Silicon Valley Community Foundation, a major force in regional philanthropy, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, has placed its CEO on paid administrative leave. The investigation continues into a workplace culture apparently tolerated bullying and sex crimes.
More of the same from “do as we say, not as we do” Silicon Valley.
Emmett Carson, who has led the organization since 2007, was put on ice “until further notice.” He’ll be replaced on an interim basis by a former board member, Greg Avis.
Employees apparently have had enough. Two outside law firms have been tasked with conducting an investigation.
Major donors have had enough too. It’s pretty clear the money is drying up.
Carson is taking the heat because Mari Ellen Loijens, a top executive at the foundation, pretty much brutalized them and posioned the workplace.
Loijens resigned from the foundation.
