An independent campaign committee (wink, wink) supporting Republican businessman John Cox’s gubernatorial campaign has launched a television advertisement playing off the #MeToo movement according to the Sacramento Bee.
Cox’s ad attacks Gavin Newsom and Antonio Villaraigosa for cheating on their wives.
Now there’s an original story-line. Nice going Republicans. As if no one has ever cheated on their spouse in California.
In typical child-like Republican fashion, the ad attacks Newsom and Villaraigosa for their past sexual affairs as images of Harvey Weinstein, Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer, Roger Ailes, Steve Wynn and Al Franken appear on the screen.
Voters are somehow expected to believe that Cox, who is also a wealthy powerful white guy, is somehow immune from the disease that has affected the aforementioned list of perps.
Interestingly, Cox gave fellow Republican gubernatorial candidate Travis Allen a pass. Allen was named earlier this year in the Legislature’s release of sex crime investigation records.
The California Republican Party clown show keeps rolling along. What’s next Cox? An ad saying Newsom and Villaraigosa smoked weed perhaps? OMG!!!
If this ad does nothing else, it tells voters Cox is unfit to be our next Governor.
