#AfricanAmerican women march in #Sacramento, but white elites, and the police, remain firmly in control

Screenshot 2018-06-10 at 07.56.43This year’s Black Women’s March was hosted by Sacramento’s Black Women United organization and the theme was “Can I live?”

Imani Mitchell, president and founder of Black Women United, explained the event’s theme in an op-ed for the Sacramento Bee.

Imani, like most African American women in Sacramento, would like the same rights granted by the Constitution that everyone else gets.

They are tired of Sacramento’s’ Jim Crow policies that treat the poor, the homeless, the mentally ill, and people of color as if they were the enemy.

California state Sen. Holly Mitchell, D-Los Angeles, showed up. The African American senator paid lip service to the crowd that had gathered for the event.

The fact is, in the end, neither Mitchell, nor her Democrat colleagues who control the Legislature have done anything to help people of color.

They remain squarely in the camp of the brutal police unions who donate huge amounts of money to Democrat political campaigns.

Don’t expect this year’s march to change things in Sacramento. The city’s white elites remain firmly in control.
