Janus vs. AFSCME has always been a Hail Mary play by the lazy far-right to stop public employee unions. After all, it’s easier to fight in court than in the arena of public policy.
As the Sacramento Bee reports, now, California public workers have a choice for the first time in decades about whether they want some of their wages to support the unions that bargain for their contracts.
California pays nearly $20 billion in wages to state workers. That’s a lot of good paying jobs. Plus, the pensions state workers get are luxurious. That’s billions more.
New contracts offered by the state are are generous beyond belief. On top of all that, the work rules are fabulous.
You’d have to be crazy to not want to be in a union in California.
